First applications have been implemented in the Powertrain area. We developed a first standalone CAN protocol engine in 1992. Today we are offering a wide range of 8bit, 16bit and 32bit microcontrollers with integrated CAN or TwinCAN modules as well as TwinCAN gateway controllers and a family of CAN transceivers to serve the market with complete CAN solutions.
Today Infineon is defining with other parties of the automotive industry the time triggered CAN - TTCAN.
